It's a quiet, rainy day in Memphis that I, unfortunately, had to spend at work. My tummy started hurting early in the morning, I needed to be home before I even left the house.
As soon as I got back from work, I went to our garden. The lavender smelled so good, it made me tear up. Don't laugh!!! It is my favorite smell in the entire world. Us, Type A folk, need it in our life. It helps us calm down.
I am now enjoying the quiet and reading about Susan Sontag's romance with Joseph Brodsky, who once said that Everything has its limit, including sorrow. Which is both the most awfully depressing and the most strangely comforting line of poetry I have read in a long time.
Hope you are having a sweet, quiet weekend. Wherever you are.
